Tesla said on X that Latvia has authorized its Full Self-Driving system, which makes Latvia the tenth European Union country to sign off on the software. The approval recognizes the provisional EU type approval the Dutch regulator RDW issued in April. The Netherlands was the first. Germany, France, Italy and Spain, which together account for about 58% of the EU population, have not yet recognized the Dutch approval, and an EU-wide vote is expected in December. The ten approved countries together hold roughly 14% of the EU population. Tesla sells the product in Europe as a supervised system that still requires driver attention, at 99 euros a month.
