An IDC analysis released earlier in October put Nvidia at 34% of China's AI accelerator market in the first half of 2026, ahead of Huawei at 28%. The same data showed Nvidia shipped about 678,000 accelerators into China in that period, but those shipments fell 44% from a year earlier. On Thursday Huang told Yahoo Finance that the US should take China seriously as both a manufacturing and technology competitor, pointing to DeepSeek and Huawei chip-design work and Huawei's gains in China's accelerator market. The combination signals that Nvidia's China revenue base is shrinking even as it keeps a share lead.
- IDC analysis found Nvidia held 34% of China's AI accelerator market in the first half of 2026.
- Huawei held 28% of the same market in that period, per the IDC analysis.
- Nvidia shipped 678,000 accelerators into China in the first half of 2026, down 44% year over year.
- Huang called China 'very, very serious competition' in a Yahoo Finance interview at GTC Berlin.
