Depreciation & Amortization (D&A)

Non-cash charge that systematically allocates the cost of tangible assets (depreciation) and intangible assets (amortization) over their useful lives. Added back to net income in the OCF section because it reduces earnings without consuming cash. A key component of EBITDA = Operating Income + D&A.
