Otter Tail Corporation is a diversified holding company organized into three segments: Electric, Manufacturing, and Plastics. The Electric segment consists of Otter Tail Power Company, a vertically integrated regulated utility that generates, purchases, and distributes electricity to approximately 134,000 customers across rural areas of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, with generation capacity from coal, natural gas, wind, and solar sources and subject to state and federal regulatory oversight. The Manufacturing segment, led by BTD Manufacturing and T.O. Plastics, produces custom metal-fabricated parts and components for original equipment manufacturers in recreational vehicles, agriculture, and construction, as well as thermoformed plastic products for horticulture and medical packaging. The Plastics segment manufactures PVC pipe through Northern Pipe Products and Vinyltech Corporation for municipal water infrastructure across the western United States and Canada. The company generates revenue from these operations, with the Electric utility providing regulated returns on its rate base investments and the Manufacturing and Plastics operations generating cash that funds capital investments in the Electric segment.
