Operator: LGConsult LDA, a limited liability company, Registered in Portugal.
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of the Moatkeep Terms of Service (/legal/terms). It applies to everyone who uses moatkeep.com — Visitors, Free users, and Investor subscribers. Breach of this policy is a breach of the Terms.
1. No scraping, bulk extraction, or redistribution
You must not:
- scrape, crawl, spider, or otherwise systematically extract data or content from the Service, whether manually or with automated tools (including headless browsers and AI agents), except for lawful indexing by public search engines respecting robots.txt;
- perform bulk or repeated extraction of substantial parts of our databases (prices, fundamentals, metrics, glossary, research) beyond the exports your tier expressly provides;
- redistribute, republish, resell, mirror, or make Service content or data available to any third party — including publishing it in datasets, feeding it to third-party products or APIs, or using it to train machine-learning models;
- use tier exports (CSV, PDF) for anything other than your own personal, non-commercial research. Export quotas exist to support personal use; "unlimited" never means redistribution.
Parts of our market data are derived from licensed upstream sources under display-only licences. Redistribution can put us in breach of those licences; we enforce this strictly.
2. No reverse engineering or circumvention
You must not:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or probe the Service's software, APIs, or data pipelines, except to the extent a mandatory legal exception applies;
- bypass, disable, or interfere with access controls, tier gating, paywalls, quotas, or content locks (including reconstructing gated content from partial responses);
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse controls, CAPTCHA/Turnstile challenges, or phone/email verification — including by rotating IPs, automating registrations, or distributing requests across accounts;
- remove, obscure, or tamper with watermarks, forensic fingerprints, disclaimers, or attribution on downloaded files. Downloaded PDFs are watermarked and forensically logged per account; tampering with these marks is treated as serious abuse.
3. One person, one account
- Accounts are personal. Do not share your credentials, let others use your session, or pool one subscription across several people.
- Do not create multiple accounts to multiply free quotas, evade a suspension or ban, or otherwise defeat per-account limits.
- Do not sell, rent, or transfer an account.
4. No unlawful or harmful use
You must not use the Service:
- for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation (including market-abuse, sanctions, and intellectual-property law);
- to attack, overload, or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure (denial of service, vulnerability exploitation, malware, unauthorised access attempts). If you believe you found a security vulnerability, report it to [email protected] instead of exploiting it;
- to store or transmit unlawful material in your private notes or other account data;
- to impersonate Moatkeep or any other person, or to misrepresent your affiliation with us.
5. No misrepresentation of Moatkeep content as advice
Moatkeep content is data and educational research content — not investment advice (Terms § 2). You must not:
- present Moatkeep data, articles, or reports to any third party as investment advice, a personal recommendation, or as advice endorsed, personalised, or produced for that person by Moatkeep;
- use Moatkeep content or branding to support your own advisory, brokerage, signal-selling, or similar services in a way that suggests Moatkeep provides, endorses, or is responsible for such services;
- strip or alter the "not investment advice" disclaimers, "data as of" markers, or methodology attributions when quoting the limited excerpts the Terms permit.
6. Enforcement
6.1 Ladder. We apply enforcement proportionately. Typically:
- Warning — for a first or minor breach, we notify the account email and may require corrective action.
- Suspension — for repeated or significant breach, we may temporarily suspend the Account or specific features (e.g. exports/downloads) while we investigate.
- Termination (ban) — for serious, repeated, or bad-faith breach (e.g. systematic scraping, redistribution of watermarked reports, credential sharing at scale, security attacks, ban evasion), we may terminate the Account. Access ends immediately; for paid subscribers, billing stops at the end of the current paid period as set out in the Subscription Terms.
6.2 Immediate action. We may skip steps and suspend or terminate immediately where a breach is serious, causes ongoing harm or legal exposure, or where we are required to act by law. We may also apply technical countermeasures (rate limiting, blocking, quota freezes) at any time to protect the Service.
6.3 Evidence and traceability. Enforcement decisions rely on server-side logs, rate-limit and abuse telemetry, and download watermark/fingerprint records. Where lawful and practicable, we will tell you the reason for a measure and give you the opportunity to respond by writing to support at moatkeep.com.
6.4 Reservation of rights. Enforcement under this policy does not limit any other remedy available to us, including claims for damages (e.g. for redistribution of licensed data) or reports to competent authorities.
7. Reporting abuse
To report scraping, account compromise, redistribution of Moatkeep content, security vulnerabilities, or any other suspected breach of this policy, contact support at moatkeep.com. Please include enough detail for us to investigate (URLs, timestamps, files). We review all reports; we do not commit to a response deadline but aim to act promptly on credible reports.
8. Changes
This policy is versioned and may be updated per the change mechanism in Terms § 14. The current version is always at /legal/aup.
