P/Tangible Book

Price relative to tangible book value per share — book value with goodwill and other intangibles removed. A more conservative balance-sheet yardstick than P/B, favoured for banks and insurers. Not-meaningful when tangible book value per share is zero or negative.

Formula

Price ÷ tangible book value per share
